The Builders
A mobile timeline of a place called Rome is a project by interdisciplinary research collective The League of Imaginary Scientists and tactical cartographer Liz Kueneke, aided by Eternal Tour director Donatella Bernardi, and built with the project's numerous collaborators in and away from Rome!
Many of the project's long-distance collaborators live around the globe in places bearing the city name Rome, such as Rome, Alabama in the U.S., Puerto de Roma, Ecuador, and the island of Roma in Maluku, Indonesia, to name a few. Cyclists along the mobile timeline make stops at the different Rome’s identified in the travel guide. The project's remote collaborators, who live in a distant Rome, tell stories about their parallel cities. Their narrations are available as podcasts and on CD walkmans lent out during scheduled bicycle tours. The Eternal Travel Guide also doubles as a YOU-BUILD-IT Coliseum!
